Speculation about how Vetements’s Demna Gvasalia, the king of the hoodie, would fare as the new creative director of Balenciaga reached a fever pitch as guests entered the show venue, a former Canal+ television studio. Once the blaring music from DJ Clara Deshayes began, those questions were answered with Gvasalia’s shapely daywear and fusion of street staples with couture silhouettes.
